      After purchasing an amulet or a talisman, it is best to clean it of any energetic impurities. The exception are gifts from a loved one or a person close to us, when we consciously want to preserve the energies that he wants to share with us: the desire for prosperity, protection or material proof of love and affection, it's all depends with what intention the crystal has been given to us.  However, take into account that if you receive something very personal as a gift, you take it over with all energies, including negative emotions or disease energies - be careful in this case.

 Another such exception, when we do not purify or cleansing after purchase, are amulets or talismans intentionally programmed to a specific action by a magician or witch. In this case, we either immediately receive the amulet directly into our hands, or it arrives in a protective package so that only the magician and we have energetic contact with it.

 So suppose you have chosen a pendant or a stone for yourself and would like to clean it. You can do this in several ways - choose the one that suits you best.

WAYS OF CLEANING AMULETS AND TALISMANS

  Water cleansing - we place the amulet under a stream of cool, running water in the tap - for about 1-3 minutes - and let the water rinse it of any energetic impurities. It is a very simple and quick method of cleaning, probably the most used.

 

 Salt water cleansing - prepare a bowl with water, add some salt to it (sea or rock salt, 1 teaspoon per glass is enough). Leave the amulet in the water for a long time. If possible, you can add a handful of dried cleansing herbs to the water: lavender, sage leaves or vegetable thistle. Pay attention to whether this method will harm the amulet you are cleansing, e.g. water will dissolve a desert rose crystal.

 Salt cleansing - you can put the talisman in salt. Salt has strong cleansing properties, so the amulet does not need to be in it for a long time, just a few hours is enough.

 Cleansing with soil - this is a way to clean the amulet by placing it in the ground for a minimum of one or two days. It is recommended to dip a small hole somewhere away (preferably far) fro. Your house and leave amulet there, do not use a soil in your plant pots, because the plant will receives all the negative energy which we getting rid of from the crystal (huge trees will absorb negative energy, but one plant is to weak to do so).

 Cleansing with white sage smoke or in incense smoke - light a sage or incense and place the talisman in the stream of smoke for a few minutes.

 Cleansing Over Candle Flame - draw your amulet over the candle flame several times. If you have the option to choose its color, use a white candle. Remember to be careful and absolutely do not heat the amulet in one place, so as not to permanently damage it or injure yourself.

 Cleansing with sound - the loud, clear sound of a bell has a cleansing effect (you may have noticed for yourself that church bells have a similar effect). Similarly, we can use the sounds of bowls and gongs or bells - also recorded on a CD - or recordings of songs from Gregorian choirs, although the sound is more suited to clearing larger spaces than small amulets and talismans.

Sun light - beam of sun light will burns off the bad energies, we can leave our crystal on the window in sunny area to clean. After a day on sunlight crystal is ready to use. 

Moon Light - during the Full Moon we can leave our crystal on the window for the night in the moon light, beam of light will clean our amulet in one night, it's easy and safe method for us as well us our crystals. 

Moon Water - similar to moon light we leaving our crystal in moon water previousky prepared by us in the full moon. Crystal can be left for only a night in bowl of moon water and it's also easy and safe method. 

Selenite - cleansing crystal itself, which is good to have at home as it will clean large living area as well as stones and whatever has to be cleansed from energies we don't want. Cleansing crystals with selenit it's easy proces, we should place selenit with crystal we want to clean in stone, glass or wooden bowl so the energy is not conducted out of the bowl, we will leave the crystal ideally for 2 days. 

HOW OFTEN TO CLEANSE TALISMANS AND AMULETS? 

 While using an amulet or a talisman, it should be systematically cleaned. Once a week, twice or more often - it depends on what situations you encounter on a daily basis. Certainly, crystals that act as radiators, such as rock crystal or smoky quartz, require more frequent cleaning, because they accumulate negative energies.

 So if you had to take part in an unpleasant situation, experienced a lot of stress, you were with a person who wished you badly or with an energy vampire, it is best to clean your amulet, because he took over what could harm you. This way, he will be able to fully protect you again.
